Who you’ll be working for:
We are excited to have been recommended to EXCLUSIVELY assist this chain of amazing safari lodges in East Africa to help recruit two Travel Planners.
These high-end safari lodges provide extraordinary getaways amidst stunning landscapes and luxurious accommodations.
The leadership team are extremely hands-on however, they don't micro manage, in fact the opposite. There are no set working hours for these roles and likewise holidays. All team members are mature in their commitment and conscientous approach to ensuring good turnaround/response times for customers and the best level of service. So if you need to nip out to do your shopping, pick up your child, meet somebody for a coffee, thats all good. You wont be micro managed
Responsibilities:
Within this East Africa Safari Expert role, you will curate unforgettable wildlife experiences, where each moment is a brushstroke of adventure. Your expertise will guide guests to savour fine dining with breathtaking views and embrace the heart of Africa in comfort and elegance.
- Plan East African travel arrangements for guests
- Respond promptly and courteously to global inquiries
- Translate vague requests into personalised travel plans
- Craft itineraries tailored to guests' preferences, including budgets
- Manage partner travel arrangements within East Africa (air, ground transport, accommodation, etc.)
- Ensure accurate booking details, invoicing, and guest information
- Provide real-time internal feedback on guest logistics during their stay
- Collaborate with the finance team for timely collections
Experience required:
- Familiarity with luxury East African accommodations and travel logistics
- Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in tourism or hospitality
- Proficiency with reservation systems like ResRequest or similar platforms
- Well-established relationships within the industry
- Embody a passion for curating unforgettable journeys and delighting guests
- Possess extensive knowledge of travel intricacies in East Africa
- Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail
- Provide exceptional 24/7 service, prioritising guest satisfaction
- Communicate eloquently in both written and spoken forms
- Exhibit self-motivation and proactive work style
- Display natural empathy and effective problem-solving
- Maintain composure under pressure, showcasing a sense of humour
- Embrace and promote the core values of the brand
